100G Optical Transceiver'S Form Factor Comparision

100G Optical Transceiver'S Form Factor Comparision

There are many packaging types for 100G optical modules, the common ones are QSFP28, CXP, CFP, CFP2, CFP4, etc. At present, 100G optical modules are being used more and more widely in enterprise data centers.

The first-generation 100G optical module was a very large CFP optical module, and then CFP2 and CFP4 optical modules appeared. Among them, the CFP4 optical module is the latest generation of 100G optical modules, and its width is only 1/4 of the CFP optical module. The packaging style of the QSFP28 optical module is smaller than that of the CFP4 optical module, which means that the QSFP28 optical module has a higher port density on the switch.

In 2020, due to the spread of the epidemic of COVID-19 in various countries around the world, the demand for networks has been promoted, and the construction of new infrastructures such as 5G networks and data centers has been accelerated. This directly stimulates the vigorous development of related ICT fields, such as 5G, big data centers, artificial intelligence and industrial Internet. The development of these fields has brought about the continuous growth of network traffic and the number of users, and the performance requirements and business models have also been diversified.

QSFP28 has been a mainstream product in most high-speed connections applications, offers customers a wide variety of high-density and low-power 100 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options for data center, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, and service provider applications.

Primus IT provides a well-compatible and high-performance QSFP28 portfolio to support global data centers operators and ISP, the portfolio includes
